Jarryd Felton of Gosnells Golf Club will face Victoria’s James Bannan in tomorrow’s NSW Amateur Matchplay Final at Castle Hill.
Four Western Australians entered the day hoping to make an NSW Amateur final berth. Mount Lawley’s Hannah Green faced Mandurah’s Hayley Bettencourt in the Quarter final, where Green prevailed with a 4&3 victory. Green’s run ended in the semi finals, falling to Queensland’s Ali Orchad 5&3 who will face NSW’s Doey Choi in the final.
It was another all Western Australian affair in the Men’s Semi Final after Felton and Cottesloe’s Curtis Luck advanced easily in their Quarter Final matches. Luck entered the match as the favourite holding the Number 1 seed as the NSW Strokeplay Medalist, however Felton raced out of the blocks and held a 3-up lead after 12 holes. While Luck pegged Felton back but was unable to make up the deficit with Felton winning on the 17th hole, 2&1.
