The GolfWA Talent Development Program (TDP) is focused on the development of athletes eligible for our current and future junior state squads.
The TDP aims to develop holistic athletes through workshops on practical skills, strength and conditioning, recovery, nutrition, psychology, values, integrity and teamwork. We have two tiers of funded athletes who are selected annually based on ability and attitude to allow us to create optimal training environments.
Our TDP athletes are invited to participate in three training sessions per year, which include on-course assessment, off-course holistic skills and testing. This culminates with an end-of-year TDP camp/event in November or December. Elite PGA professional coaches and accredited experts in their field will deliver all programs.
The TDP program in 2024 will commence in May/June until December. This is due to a busy golfing schedule between January and May for athletes and service providers. Applications open in March/April for the subsequent year’s program, with selections and TDP training dates confirmed in May.
Once each application window is open, we will widely promote it on the GolfWA website as well as our social media channels. Previous applicants will also be informed directly.
