Canadian Fours kick off Rural Bronze in King River

24th Jun 2022

Today’s Canadian Foursomes competition has kicked off the weekend of the 2022 GolfWA Rural Bronze tournament at the Riverview Golf Club.

38 pairs kicked off proceedings with more to come as Rural Bronze kicks in to gear over the weekend.

Finishing in seventh place was Sue Baxter (Riverview Golf Club) & Jane Dudley (Denmark Country Club) on 25 points and in sixth was Busselton pair Petrina King and Marilyn Ballarine on 26 points.

Fifth place was won by Wandering pair Maria Densham & Dianne Warburton on 26 points. They closely followed the pair who finished in fourth, Jacinta and Dorothy Glass from Northam, who also finished on 26 and took the place on a countback.

The major places began with Denise Twigg (Boyup Brook) and Tricia Sisman from the home club of Riverview on 27 points. Hopetoun Everett pairing Jennifer Davidson and Tove Pedersen finished as bridesmaids for the day on 28 points.

Congratulations were then in order to winners of the day, Kate Oliver (Gnowangerup) and Rhonda Davies (Busselton) who finished on 29 points. A win made all the more impressive considering the pair had only met each other this morning!

Play will kick off tomorrow with a first tee time of 8am. Click here to read a full preview of this year’s GolfWA Rural Bronze tournament.
