Crunch&Sip Junior Tour April 2024

More than 130 competitors took part in the latest two rounds of the Crunch&Sip Junior Tour during the April school holidays.

Perth’s Indian Summer ensured glorious playing conditions at both events, which were staged at Rockingham and Nedlands Golf Clubs respectively.

Rockingham hosted 72 competitors (44 boys and 28 girls), with juniors contesting four categories based on their level of skill and experience.

Serial winner Jenna Phoon landed the Stableford top prize, amassing 21 points from nine holes to lead home Lynn Suh and Sean Wu by three points. It was even closer in the Modified Stroke category, with Jonas Bobusic edging Max Beaton on a countback after both played nine holes in 49 shots.

In the shortened Tiger Tees format, Charlie Biddle won the nine-hole event, with Adem Dali winning the five-hole event on a countback from Evan Lee.

The next event at Nedlands was a similarly competitive affair, with 39 boys and 23 girls contesting the four divisional events.

Ryker Sampson claimed the Stableford prize with 21 points, leaving him four clear of Lynn Suh, while Clara Ascoli fired a nine-hole 55 to win the Modified Stroke by two from Jonas Bobusic and Kai Newcombe.

Harry Kilgour won the nine-hole Tiger Tees comp on a countback from Thomas Woodruff after both tied on 44 strokes, while Linc Webber was a two-stroke winner in the five-hole equivalent after a 29.

The next two events on the Crunch&Sip Junior Tour take place at Pinjarra Golf Club on Sunday, May 5, and Mandurah Country Club on Sunday, June 9. Registration for both is open now.

Registration is also open for the popular Crunch&Sip Junior Tour of the South West, which takes place at Capel, Dunsborough Lakes and Bunbury golf clubs from September 25-27.

Players will share the course with competitors in the Drummond Golf 54-Hole Junior Classic, offering them a great preview of the type of competition they can look forward to further along their journey in golf. Full details here.
