Ollie Marsh, Josiah Edwards and Spencer Harrison have been named in Golf Australia’s High Performance Squad for 2026.
The Western Australian trio earned their first call-ups to the national HP squad after being part of GolfWA’s High Performance Programs for several years.
Both Edwards (Gosnells GC) and Harrison (Royal Perth) have represented Australia in the past two years, while Marsh (Wanneroo GC) is stepping up after representing WA multiple times at junior level.
All three golfers enjoyed standout years in 2025, with 17-year-old Harrison topping the Australian Boys’ Order of Merit standings and lining up in Aussie colours at the Junior World Championships in California.
He also memorably outshone LIV Golf star Marc Leishman during the first round of the 2025 WA Open at Mount Lawley Golf Club.
Edwards, aged 19, won his first two national ranking events in 2025 at the Port Phillip Open Amateur and South Australian Amateur Championship, and flew the flag for Australia at the Singapore and Canadian Amateur Championships.
Marsh, meanwhile, won all three of GolfWA’s premier junior titles in 2025 – the Boys’ Amateur Championship of WA, the Junior Masters, and the 54-Hole Junior Classic.
He also came through qualifying to reach the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne and has already bagged junior state crowns in 2026 in South Australia and Tasmania prior to turning 18 in January.
Rick Kulacz, GolfWA’s High Performance Manager, believes that the rising stars are fully deserving of this opportunity.
“All three athletes have consistently delivered strong results over an extended period and have earned their selection into the HP program,” he said.
“Along with our coaches and support staff, I’m looking forward to welcoming them into the HP training environment. We aim to complement the foundations they already have in place, while guiding their ongoing development and growth.”
Hinson-Tolchard and McKinney back in Rookie Squad
Golf Australia’s High Performance Program has the long-term aim of developing players capable of winning Major championships, Olympic medals and achieving top-100 professional world rankings.
The program has produced numerous success stories, including Minjee Lee, Cameron Smith, Hannah Green, Min Woo Lee, Cam Davis, Stephanie Kyriacou, Lucas Herbert and Grace Kim.
The top tier of the initiative is the Golf Australia Rookie Program, which supports athletes through the critical transition from amateur to professional golf and provides up to five years of tailored support as players establish themselves on international tours.

WA’s Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Connor McKinney (pictured above) were both recalled to the Rookie Squad for 2026 after impressive achievements over the past 12 months.
Hinson-Tolchard enjoyed a strong rookie season on the Ladies European Tour, finishing 32nd in the Order of Merit, while McKinney successfully negotiated all three stages of DP World Tour Qualifying School to earn full playing privileges for 2026.
PGA Tour winner Karl Vilips, who first learned the game in WA, also retains his place in the Rookie Squad.
