WA state golfers Josiah Edwards and Amie Phobubpa have won the Roy Paxton and Ivie Temperley Trophies for the lowest scoring averages across the 2025-26 season.
Royal Perth’s Edwards topped the Roy Paxton scoring charts with an average of 68.63 from 32 rounds. This left him ahead of The Vines’ Adam Baillie (32 rounds, 69.34 av) and Wanneroo GC’s Ollie Marsh (16 rounds, 70.44 av).
Joondalup Country Club’s Phobubpa, meanwhile, claimed the Ivie Temperley Trophy with a scoring average of 70.37 from 40 rounds. Her WA state team-mate Katie Seol (Cottesloe GC) was second with 71.84 from 20 rounds, with Lakelands’ Kortni Houston third (19 rounds, 72.17 av).
“I’m incredibly thankful to be recognised with this award,” 19-year-old Edwards told GolfWA.
“It’s been a season full of valuable lessons and experiences, and this is something I’ll always be proud of as I continue chasing my goals.”
An emotional Phobubpa added: “What an honour it is to have my name engraved on this award. To know that some of Australia’s most talented golfers held this very same trophy at some point in their amateur careers really excites me.
“None of this would be possible without my team and the support system that makes my life so much easier. I feel incredibly lucky to have so many people behind me.”

To be eligible to win the scoring average trophies, players must have recorded a minimum of 15 rounds over the course of the season. You can view the season’s final standings here.
Previous winners of the Roy Paxton Trophy include Connor Fewkes, Jordan Doull, Haydn Barron, Craig Parry, Hayden Hopewell, Min Woo Lee, Curtis Luck, Stephen Leaney and Terry Gale.
The Ivie Temperley Trophy, meanwhile, has a list of past winners that includes Minjee Lee, Hannah Green, Kirsten Rudgeley, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and current WA state coach Jess Speechley.
The awards were presented at GolfWA’s Annual Golf Day & Dinner, held at Royal Fremantle Golf Club.
The event is a staple on the GolfWA calendar, taking place each August and bringing together board members and representatives from metropolitan and regional clubs to celebrate the year of WA golf.
The Golf Day & Dinner also featured an 18-hole Stableford competition, with teams competing for the Hastings Reid Cup. This was won by Kwinana Golf Club’s Shaun Shymington, Mario Agius, Ryan Jeffrey and Eugene Ferraro.
