Minjee Lee PGA Awards 2025

Minjee Lee was one of four Western Australian winners at the annual PGA Awards held in Brisbane on Tuesday night.

A resurgent season highlighted by a third major championship has earned Lee a record-extending fourth Greg Norman Medal, an accolade presented to the player judged to be the best professional Australian golfer on the world stage.

Lee became just the fourth Australian with at least three major titles when she completed a three-stroke win at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June.

The Royal Fremantle golfer also finished third overall in the LPGA Tour’s season-ending standings and has risen to fourth in the world rankings.

She pipped Grace Kim to the Greg Norman Medal, despite the NSW ace’s breakthrough Major victory at the Amundi Evian Championship in July.

“It has been an extremely satisfying year personally and for the fantastic team around me, and I am thrilled to receive the Greg Norman Medal,” said Lee, who also received the award in 2018, 2021 and 2023.

“Winning another major was obviously a highlight this year, but watching Grace win her first at Evian was certainly another moment to remember. I have no doubt she will be nominated for plenty more awards like this one for years to come.”

Her stellar year has already seen Lee win the Herb Elliott Medal at the WA Hall of Champions Awards, as well as the LPGA Tour’s Rolex ANNIKA Award for her performances at the five women’s Majors.

Elsewhere, Lee’s long-time coach Ritchie Smith was also a winner, picking up the PGA National Coach of the Year – High Performance Award for the second straight year.

The Vines Golf & Country Club’s Mark Tibbles‘ passionate advocacy of All Abilities golf was recognised as he was named PGA National Coach of the Year – Game Development.

Last but not least, Mount Lawley GC’s Kirsten Rudgeley was named the Margie Masters WPGA Tour of Australasia Player of the Year to wrap up a very successful night for WA golf.
