Tasmanian Strokeplay: Green & Felton 2 strokes back

6th Feb 2014

The Tasmanian Open Golf Championship and Elvie Whitesides Golf Championship are underway at the Country Club in Launceston, with six Western Australians taking part.

Mount Lawley’s Hannah Green is the best placed after day one, sitting in second place at 3-over, two strokes back of leader Sahah Johnstone of Tasmania.

NSW Amateur Jarryd Felton is back in a tie for seventh, but is well in contention at 1-under par two strokes behind leaders Aaron Dobson and Jack WIlliams.

Both Felton and Green are chasing another national title win in Tasmania. Felotn is coming off the NSW Amateur victory last week while Green won the Bowra & O’Dea 72 Hole classic in 2013.

NSW Strokeplay Champion Curtis Luck shot a 4-over opening round and is in a tie for 21st place, while Kiran Day is a shot further back at 5-over.
