Esperance Golf Club’s efforts to get more youngsters into golf show no sign of slowing following another sold-out junior development program.
Sixteen juniors completed the club’s latest development clinics, which were delivered by PGA professional Jemma Price thanks to support from CITS and GolfWA.
The juniors took part in a mix of skills coaching and on-course training to build confidence and move to wards earning their first official GA handicaps. This is timely, with the club set to launch a short-course junior competition for the first time in 2026.
This success is just the latest step in Esperance GC’s long-term commitment to providing more opportunities for juniors in their community to get into golf.
In the past three years, 132 juniors have taken part in beginners’ programs and clinics at the club, with hundreds more introduced to the game through the GolfWA’s Crunch&Sip Regional Roadshow, which has taken golf directly into local primary schools.

A junior clinic participation gets some pointers from PGA pro Jemma Price
“It’s amazing to reflect on how far we’ve come since our very first ‘Come and Try’ sessions for juniors at the 2023 Crunch&Sip Regional Roadshow,” said Esperance GC spokesperson David McLaren.
“We also staged training to put community members through their National Program Deliverer accreditation, which has contributed greatly to the growth of junior golf here.
“Thanks to our five, incredible National Program Deliverers — who give up their time and energy to run three five-week sessions each year — we’ve been able to welcome between 15–25 students at every intake.
“The energy and enthusiasm of these young players continue to light up the course and promises a bright future for golf in Esperance.”
