Former WA state golfer Jennifer Elliott will make her Major championship debut this week after qualifying for the US Women’s Open.
Better known to WA golf fans as Jennifer Herbst before getting married this April, Elliott (pictured above) made light of her rookie pro status to soar through a regional qualifying heat at Bentwater Yacht & Country Club in Texas.
With only two exemptions into the US Women’s Open up for grabs from the field of 72, Elliott produced two sublime rounds to take medallist honours with an eight-under-par 36-hole total.
This left Elliott five clear of the chasing pack and confirmed her Major championship debut will come on the biggest stage in women’s golf this week.
The former Lake Karrinyup women’s champion will now take her place in the field alongside fellow WA golfers Hannah Green and Minjee Lee at the US Women’s Open, which takes place at Erin Hills GC in Wisconsin from May 29-June 1.
“It’s a dream come true,” Elliott said. “I’m proud to take this next step in my career. It means everything to bring my WA roots to a stage like this.”
Following her time in the WA golf system, where she represented the state between 2013-2016, Elliott moved to the United States to pursue college golf at Sam Houston State University in Texas.
Following four successful years on the college circuit, Elliott turned professional in early 2025 and currently plays on the Annika Women’s All-Pro Tour.
