National Program Deliverer accreditation

Six members of Waroona GC and Harvey GC are now equipped to deliver golf programs in their communities after completing National Program Deliverer (NPD) accreditation.

Attaining NPD accreditation enables individuals to deliver MyGolf and Get Into Golf programs at grassroots level through online accreditation and a practical workshop component.

Thanks to a Regional Servicing Grant from the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, PGA professional Andrew Thomas visited Waroona to run a practical workshop on how to deliver safe, fun and engaging golf programs to help increase participation rates.

Jo Vergone, the Waroona GC trailblazer behind the initiative, said: “Attendees at the workshop with Andrew really enjoyed it. He explained everything clearly and in a way that was easy to understand.

“The programs will make golf fun for both kids and adults, helping to spark their interest in playing.”

GolfWA’s Regional Development Officer for Peel and South West, Shelley Beardsmore, was also in attendance and added: “Seeing the excitement and positivity around building participation programs was wonderful!”
