GolfWA has welcomed two new board members and confirmed permanent appointments in two existing staff roles.
Lisa Hando and Jade Concei have been appointed as Directors, with both bringing considerable business and sports administration experience to the table.
A solicitor at Cullen Macleod Lawyers, Ms Hando (pictured top right) is a member of Mount Lawley Golf Club and previously served as a Director of Harness Racing WA.
Ms Concei, meanwhile, is Managing Counsel at Synergy and has been a member of Royal Fremantle Golf Club for nearly 30 years.
A former WA state junior golfer, Ms Concei (pictured top left) also currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Football West.
Welcoming the new Directors, GolfWA Chief Executive Arron Minchin said: “We had a very strong response to our recruitment process for a female Board member, so much so that we ended up appointing two new Directors.
“Both Jade and Lisa bring excellent skill sets to our Board as well as a strong knowledge of golf in WA. I am looking forward to working with them both as we continue to get more Western Australians playing golf.”
GolfWA has also confirmed the appointments of Brett Symons and Grace Wood in existing staff positions.
Symons moves into the Clubs & Facilities Manager role following three years at GolfWA as a Regional Club Support Officer. His prior experience includes time as General Manager of Mosman Park Golf Club.
Wood joins GolfWA in a permanent capacity as Events Officer, having spent the previous 12 months acting in the role.
A keen golfer since her junior years, Wood moved to Perth in late 2024 and has previous experience working in golf events management in the UK.
“Both Brett and Grace have proven themselves to be real assets to the team during their tenures at GolfWA,” added Minchin.
“Their extensive understanding of the WA golf sector and their passion for the sport will be invaluable in their roles and will further strengthen our relationships with affiliated clubs and their members.”
