Connor Fewkes and Amanda Gan have won the Roy Paxton and Ivie Temperley Trophies for the lowest scoring averages across the 2024-25 season.

Mount Lawley’s Fewkes topped the men’s Roy Paxton scoring charts with an average of 69.50 from 28 rounds. This left him ahead of Gosnells’ Josiah Edwards (70.00) and George Barclay (Joondalup CC, 70.04).

The accolade could equate to a fitting send-off from the amateur game for WA state skipper Fewkes, aged 25, who is contemplating transitioning into PGA membership in 2026.

“It is very humbling to win this award and go on the same trophy as lots of WA’s greats,” Fewkes told GolfWA. “It was a goal I had for a number of years, but never quite ticked it off.”

Royal Fremantle’s Gan, meanwhile, claimed the women’s Ivie Temperley Trophy with a scoring average of 70.88 from 36 rounds. Her WA state team-mate Amie Phobubpa (Joondalup CC) was second with 71.57, with Mount Lawley’s Erina Tan third (72.07).

“I’m super grateful to win this award and to tick off a huge goal I’ve been working towards,” 19-year-old Gan said.

“It has been a tough season but this definitely gives me a boost of confidence moving forward and a benchmark I can push myself to do better next year.”

Amanda and Connor were awarded the trophies at GolfWA’s annual Golf Day and Dinner

To be eligible to win the scoring average trophies, players must have recorded a minimum of 15 rounds over the course of the season. You can view the season’s final standings here.

The scoring average awards were announced at the GolfWA Annual Golf Day and Dinner at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.

The event is a staple on the GolfWA calendar, taking place each August and bringing together board members and representatives from metropolitan and regional clubs to celebrate the year of WA golf.

The Golf Day & Dinner also featured an 18-hole Stableford competition, with teams competing for the Hastings Reid Cup. This was won by Melville Glades Golf Club’s Peter Hughes, Kevin Cooper, Matt Thomas and Dean King.
