Jordan Doull will be ticking a few items off his bucket list this week when he tees it up at the Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour.
As well as getting to play on three of the most celebrated courses in Scottish golf — St Andrews Old, Carnoustie and Kings Barns — he’ll also be mixing it up with some of the biggest names in world sport and entertainment.
The pro-am format of the event means he’ll be rubbing shoulders with the likes of movie stars Bill Murray and Michael Douglas, pop singer Ronan Keating and global sporting icons Kevin Pietersen and Andy Murray.
The calibre of pro golfer isn’t bad either. Doull will compete against several modern greats of the game, including Major champions Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson. Brooks Koepka, Padraig Harrington, Bubba Watson and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Throw in European Ryder Cup stars Tommy Fleetwood, Bob MacIntyre and Tyrrell Hatton, and it’s fair to say the Mount Lawley man will be in excellent company during his time in Scotland.
Doull earned his place in the US$5m event through his top-10 finish on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia’s 2024-25 season-ending Order of Merit following a stellar rookie season that saw him capture the Webex Players Series Perth event in January.

Jordan Doull has had plenty to smile about on the golf course in 2025
And while he’s played in both the Australian PGA Championship and Australian Open, Doull believes the Dunhill Links Championship is an even more significant step in his career.
“This will be the biggest event I’ve played for sure,” he told GolfWA. “I’ve never been to Scotland, so it will definitely be a great experience. I get to play at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kings Barns and that’ll be pretty special.”
No stranger to linksy golf, Doull is a regular face at The Cut GC in Mandurah, where numerous rounds in blustery conditions have helped hone his game – even if he admits to losing plenty of balls in the course’s punishing rough.
“Links golf suits me pretty well,” he said. “You’ve got to hit the ball low and be able to control your flights, which I think I do all right. So, yeah, it’ll be a lot of fun and while I’ll be trying not to take it too seriously, I still want to perform well. That’s the main goal.”
There’s certainly no reason to think Doull can’t make an impact against the top names in world golf. After all, fellow PGA Tour of Australasian pro Cam John led the Dunhill Links at the halfway stage of last year’s event, garnering global headlines in the process.
“I definitely feel like I can compete,” he said. “My swing’s feeling pretty good and I’ve been working hard on my putting with [coach] Alex McKay, because it wasn’t good at all last season.
“Even the tournament that I won, it wasn’t anything special , so hopefully it all comes together this week.”
