GolfWA has announced Nexus Advisernet and Bowra & O’Dea Funeral Directors as co-naming rights partners for the 2023 WA Open.

Both Nexus Advisernet and Bowra & O’Dea are long-time supporters of GolfWA events. Nexus has been the naming or co-naming rights partner of the WA Open since 2009, while the Bowra & O’Dea Women’s Classic has been a staple on the WA golf calendar since 2005.

Gary Thomas, GolfWA Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to announce co-naming rights sponsors for the WA Open, and it’s especially pleasing because both Nexus Advisernet and Bowra & O’Dea have shown such a fantastic level of commitment to golf in WA for so many years.”

Nexus Advisernet Director Mark Patterson added: “In conjunction with NGI, our golf club insurance specialist, the team at Nexus is very pleased to be continuing our long-term support of the WA Open and the golf industry in general.”

Joe O’Dea, Managing Director at Bowra & O’Dea, said: “At Bowra & O’Dea, we greatly value our commitment to women’s golf and the broader golfing community in WA. We are now delighted with our involvement in the WA Open, and we aspire to continue serving the WA community through our dedication to nurturing our golfing partnerships and local initiatives.”

The Nexus Advisernet Bowra & O’Dea WA Open takes place at Joondalup Resort from October 5-8 and is free for spectators to attend. The closing two rounds will also be televised on Fox, Kayo and Sky New Zealand.

The PGA Tour of Australasia-sanctioned event has a minimum prize purse of $150,000, and Victorian Deyen Lawson (pictured top) is the defending champion.

The Nexus Advisernet Bowra & O’Dea WA Open will also incorporate the 36-hole All Abilities Championship for Australia’s leading golfers with a disability. This is played at the same time, on the same course and in the same conditions as the WA Open. Cam Pollard won the title in 2022.
