Anytime Fairway, Perth’s first fully automated, 24-hour indoor golf venue, has opened for business in Jandakot.
Located only a pitching wedge away from the site of the now-closed Glen Iris Golf Club, Anytime Fairway promises to offer serious golfers a haven to improve their game on their own terms.
The venue was conceived and constructed by Matt O’Neill (pictured above), who saw a gap in the market for keen golfers like himself who regularly work long, unsociable hours.
“Like a lot of people, I work weird hours and I just wanted to be able to go somewhere to have a hit at 11pm or even 1am, but all the driving ranges and golf simulators around town are closed at those hours,” O’Neill told GolfWA.
“Driving ranges are chockers all the time and a lot of golf simulator places have more of a pub-like environment, which isn’t really ideal for game improvement.
“That’s why, when this unit became available, I jumped at the chance to do something a bit different and create a place for golfers to just come down and focus on their game in peace and quiet – it’s like a library for golf.”
What’s on offer
With three massive, 5.5-metre-wide bays (suitable for right- and left-handed players), the experience on offer at Anytime Fairway goes beyond that of the standard golf simulator.
Amongst the innovations are a real-time AI-powered swing coach, high-speed swing optics cameras, a sensor-driven weight transfer analysis system and interchangeable hitting surfaces that allow players to more accurately recreate shots from the rough and sand.
Meanwhile, more than 500 global golf courses can be sampled via the venue’s Refine+ and GSPro simulation technology.

The automated nature of Anytime Fairway also means that shift workers or night owls can get their golf fix at times they wouldn’t traditionally be able to.
Customers need simply book a timeslot online to receive an access code for the front door. Lights, aircon and golf simulator systems activate automatically at the start of the session and deactivate at its conclusion.
“Beyond the simulator technology, there are no frills here,” O’Neill added. “It’s not a place to come for date night. It’s a place to really focus on the practice and analysis side of your game for people serious about getting better at golf.”
