Preview: GolfWA Men’s Pennants Finals

20th Jul 2026

Royal Perth Men's Pennants

Cottesloe GC’s men are hoping to put more than a decade of disappointment behind them when they face Royal Perth in Sunday’s Division 1 Pennants final.

Cottesloe last won the top flight in 2014, when they successfully defended the flag having ended a 34-year title drought 12 months earlier.

They will start the final as underdogs, however, with Royal Perth (pictured) heavily fancied to defend the Division 1 crown they won amidst hail storms, howling winds and sheeting rain in 2025.

Royal Perth have enjoyed an unbeaten season to date, winning six of their seven round-robin matches — their sole halved match a result of rain washing out the day’s play at Rockingham in Round 2. Their wins, meanwhile, include a 6-1 trouncing of Cottesloe in Round 3.

Royal Fremantle will host Sunday’s finals for Divisions 1-3, with much better weather conditions expected than last year.

Play commences at 11.20am, with matches played over 18 holes rather than the traditional 36. Spectators are very welcome to attend.

Seven more flags up for grabs

The Division 2 and 3 titles will also be decided at Royal Fremantle, with WAGC and Hartfield vying for promotion to Division 1 to replace relegated Rockingham in 2027.

Hartfield topped the Division 2 standings after going unbeaten throughout their seven matches — including a 4.5-2.5 win over WAGC in Round 7.

Meadow Springs take on Nedlands in what could be a tight Division 3 final. The two teams halved their round-robin match in June.

Elsewhere, Rockingham GC and Sun City Country Club will split hosting duties for the Divisions 4-8 Men’s Pennants finals on Sunday.

Eight different clubs will be vying for divisional glory here, with only one — Hartfield — guaranteed a victory when two of their teams face off in Division 7.
