Celebrating WA’s top junior golfers

17th Dec 2025

GolfWA Junior Presentation Day

Katie Seol and Spencer Harrison were named as the Golfers of the Year at the annual GolfWA Junior Presentation Day, hosted by Royal Perth.

Cottesloe GC’s Seol, aged 14, enjoyed a stellar year, with highlights including victory at the Junior Masters of WA in July and a third-place finish at the Bowra & O’Dea Women’s Classic in September.

Seol also represented WA at junior and open-age level and was a key member of the team that topped the girls’ division at the Junior Interstate Teams Matches in April.

Royal Perth’s Harrison, meanwhile, claimed the boys’ award following another standout year. The 17-year-old topped the Australian Boys Order of Merit for the 2024/25 season as well as representing Australia at the World Junior Championships in July.

Harrison also featured for WA in both the junior and open-age Interstate Teams Matches, winning 6.5 points out of a possible 10. He made national headlines in October after outplaying Marc Leishman in the first round of the WA Open at Mount Lawley.

He narrowly pipped WA state teammate Ollie Marsh to the award, who also had a year to remember in winning the Boys Amateur Championship of WA, the Junior Masters of WA and 54-Hole Junior Classic.

Amongst the other awards announced on the day, Indi Saunders (Lakelands CC) and Andreus Jenzen (The Vines G&CC) were recognised as the Most Improved Golfers of the Year.

Saunders reduced her handicap handicap reduced from 46 to 17.6 over the course of 2025, while Jenzen, who only attained a handicap in January 2025, has seen it plummet from 44 to 10.1 in just 11 months.

The awards presentation was preceded by a light-hearted Ambrose team event, which was won by Gosnell Golf Club’s quartet of Mason Burr, Jasper Edwards, Allysha Lim and Patrick Wilson.
