More than 200 women from dozens of WA clubs contested six team and individual titles during an action-packed Drummond Golf Women’s Country Week.
Commencing with the Silver Spoon Playoff and concluding with the 4BBB Championship Playoff seven days later, hot competition was the order of the day at seven clubs across the Perth metropolitan area.
The Silver Spoon Playoff took place at Sea View Golf Club and welcomed 45 women who had made the field based on nett aggregate scores from club qualifying rounds.
Oh Mueller from Point Walter Ladies was the big winner on the day as she carded a nett 73 off her 19-handicap to to win by three strokes from Jennifer Davidson (Hopetoun Everett GC) and Nola Wheatley (Kwinana GC).
It wrapped up a Silver Spoon double for Oh, who also bagged the May Stillman Cup for overall best nett aggregate score at club level.
Next up was the Jubilee Foursomes Playoff at Mount Lawley GC, which featured separate categories for teams from both sand greens and grass greens courses.

Jubilee Foursomes winners Caitlyn Kenny & Linda Kerr; and Sue Greaves & Jill Holmes
Mingenew GC’s Jill Holmes and Sue Greaves romped to victory in the Sand Greens division, achieving 40 Stableford points to lead the field home by seven, with Goomalling GC’s Carlene Brookes and Nola Chattaway taking second.
It was a much tighter contest in the Grass Greens category, where three teams finished tied on 38 points.
After a countback, Wanneroo GC duo Caitlyn Kenny and Linda Kerr were declared winners ahead of Kerry Van Moorsel and Christine Devenish (Marangaroo Ladies) and Cottesloe GC’s Elise Gavin and Jean Hay.
The final event prior to the individual stroke play championships was the Canadian Foursomes, with concurrent events at Cottesloe GC and Sun City CC.
At Cottesloe, Annette Coote and Ena Curtis of Bunbury GC were the grass greens category winners, while Kylie Tremlett and Jill Holmes (Latham GC, Mingenew GC) topped the sand greens standings.
In the reverse fixture at Sun City, Manjimup GC duo Patricia Sisman and Sonia Barnsby won the grass greens category with Bolgart GC’s Jenni Knowles and Jan Hamilton the sand greens champions.
Wake, Holmes land individual titles
Lakelands Country Club and Rockingham GC hosted the Silver/Bronze Championships, played in a 36-hole Stableford format.
After two days of fierce competition it was Capel Golf Club’s Lisa Wake who claimed the Silver Country Championship Cup with a 50-point total.
It marked the second consecutive title for Lisa (pictured top right), who finished five points clear of five-time winner Marion Nelson (Denmark CC).
The Bronze Championship, meanwhile, went to Jill Holmes (pictured top left) of Mingenew GC, whose 36-point haul saw her ease to an eight-point victory from Esperance GC’s Niccole Cooper.
There was also a moment to treasure for Capel GC’s Coral Clark, who scored a hole-in-one at Lakelands’ 7th hole during her opening round. She would go on to win the nett division in the Silver Championship.
The final event of Women’s Country Week was the 4BBB Challenge Playoff at Wanneroo Golf Club, where 45 pairings from across the state gathered for an 18-hole Stableford shoot-out.
Ultimately, Denmark Country Club’s Annette Harbron and Lisa O’Farrell clinched the title on a countback from Jan McFarlane and Joan Andrich (Nedlands GC) after both teams had tied on 44 points.
As well as state bragging rights, Annette and Lisa also won a trip to the 2026 women’s Australian Open, which will take place in Adelaide next March.
