Minjee Lee has become the first two-time winner of the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award after a season of consistent excellence in Major championships.
The annual accolade recognises the player with the most outstanding record in all five women’s Major championships throughout the year, with points awarded to players who finish in the top 10.
In order to earn the award by year’s end, a player must win at least one of the five Major titles, which Lee achieved when she won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June.
Lee also finished T3rd at the Amundi Evian Championship, T13th at the Women’s British Open, T14th in the Chevron Championship and T22nd at the US Women’s Open as she topped the standings from Japan’s Mao Saigo.
The understated Royal Fremantle star rated her season’s efforts in the showpiece events at 8.5 out of 10 at the conclusion of the Women’s British Open.
“From where I was at the beginning of the year and obviously winning KPMG and played Chevron and had a good finish at Evian and all right at US Open and here, I’m going to say I’ve done pretty well,” she said.
Lee is the 11th winner and first multiple winner of the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award since it was established in 2014. She first won the award in 2022 after winning the US Women’s Open and recording top-five finishes at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and Women’s British Open.
She is a part of a decorated list of past winners of the award that includes Michelle Wie West (2014), Inbee Park (2015), Lydia Ko (2016), Patty Tavatanakit (2021), Lilia Vu (2023) and Nelly Korda (2024).
Lee will be formally honored at the Rolex LPGA Awards during the season-ending Tour Championship in November.
