WA’s Kirsten Rudgeley produced some of her best golf of the year to finish in T4th in the season-ending Andalucia Open de Espana on the Ladies’ European Tour.

The Mount Lawley ace (pictured above) was in sublime form for the first 54 holes of the championship and led the field by two strokes after the third round to put herself in prime position to land her first pro title.

However, on a day when a number of her more seasoned rivals were hitting the accelerator, Rudgeley was unable to keep the pace as she closed with a one-over-par 73 for a -12 total and a share of 4th with Sweden’s Linn Grant.

India’s Aditi Ashok claimed the title – her second of the year – after a closing 66 moved her to -17 for the championship and granted her a two-stroke victory ahead of Anne Van Dam of the Netherlands.

In matching her best finish of the year (4th at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open), 22-year-old Rudgeley moved up to finish 30th in the LET’s season-ending Order of Merit and 4th in the Rookie of the Year race, both of which were won by Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab.
