Panos advances at LPGA Tour School

Jayde Pados of Lake Karrinyup has narrowly qualified for Stage 2 of LPGA Tour school.

Panos’ strong 1-under opening round made the difference, as she advanced in a tie for 90th place, with the top 100 golfers plus ties advancing.

Panos was one of 102 golfers to advance and will moves on to play in Stage II of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla., from Sept. 30 – Oct. 4. At that stage, the top 80 and ties will play to the Final Qualifying Tournaent, which will take place in early December.


Lake Karrinyup’s Jayde Panos remains well in contention despite slipping from T12 to T32 after Round 2 of Stage 1 at the LPGA Tour School.

Panos needs to finish in the top-100 to advance to the next stage, and she consolidated her position with a 3-over round to keep a 4 stroke buffer inside the qualifying places.

Panos is one of four Australians playing the Rancho Mirage Qualifier, and all are all in contention to advance. Maggie Yuan is T32 at 3-over and Justine Lee and Lauren Hibbert are T95 at 6-over.


Lake Karrinyup’s Jayde Panos has started well in the first stage of LPGA Tour School after round one of LPGA Qualifying School at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

Panos sits T12 after shooting a 1-under par 71 five shots off the lead and four shots ahead of the crucial top-100 mark.

The Rancho Mirage Qualifier is the first of the LPGA Tour’s three qualifying events in 2014. The top-100 players and ties from this week will advance to the second stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida, from Sept. 30 – Oct. 4.

A minimum of the top 80 and ties from Stage II will advance into the Final Qualifying Tournament.

Stage III of LPGA Q-School will be contested over 90 holes Dec. 3-7, at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Top finishers in the final stage will earn 2015 LPGA membership.
