More than 30 women attended the inaugural ‘Find Your Fit’ golf discovery event at Drummond Golf Osborne Park.
The event was conceived by golf content creator Jess Kelly (pictured above right with Chris Tardrew of Drummond Golf) with the aim of making the step into golf feel less intimidating and more welcoming for women.
Created in partnership with Drummond Golf – who granted exclusive access to the Osborne Park branch – and UChoose Golf, Find Your Fit brought together everyone from complete beginners to experienced competitive golfers.
Guests could try clubs and learn about fitting, explore golf clothing, take part in putting competitions and nearest-the-pin challenges on the in-house simulators, as well as ask questions during an open Q&A.
A specially designed Find Your Fit scorecard gave the day some structure, encouraging guests to try something new, learn about the game and introduce themselves to someone they hadn’t arrived with.
The format proved a hit, allowing the afternoon to flow naturally while giving everyone a reason to get involved.

The event’s central goal was to help women feel like they belonged in golf
For Jess, one of the notable successes of the day was the fact that many women arrived on their own.
“Several attendees had shared beforehand that they were nervous about coming alone but wanted to challenge themselves to do it anyway,” she told GolfWA.
“By the end of the afternoon, those same women were meeting new people, exchanging numbers and asking when the next event would be.
“Experienced golfers attending the event also reflected on how different the environment felt from when they first entered the game, noting that welcoming, women-focused events like this simply hadn’t existed for them,” Kelly added.
“For me, that clearly demonstrates that the afternoon delivered on its central purpose: creating a space where women could explore golf, find their people and feel like they belonged.”
Further ‘Find Your Fit’ events will be staged in future and will be announced on Jess Kelly’s Instagram account.
