Hannah Green: Hero’s homecoming for KPMG Women’s PGA winner

12th Jul 2019

An army of MyGolf juniors flooded the greens at Mount Lawley Golf Club to welcome home KPMG Women’s PGA winner Hannah Green.

Green became the first West Aussie to win a golfing major when she drained a 5-foot putt on Hazeltine’s 18th green just a few weeks ago.

After a whirlwind few weeks and with a bank account that now boasts a few added zeroes, you’d forgive Hannah if she wanted to spend some time away from the spotlight.

Never one to shy away from helping the next generation of golfers, Hannah spent over an hour with the Mount Lawley MyGolf kids who can now say they’ve swung a club with a Major Champion.

Mount Lawley General Manager Troy O’Hern was nothing but complimentary of the club’s latest star.

Hannah came through the MLGC junior program and has always been very giving of her time. The look on the faces of the juniors when they met a Major Champion was priceless.

Today’s homecoming was as much a celebration of golf as it was a celebration of Hannah.

Mount Lawley Golf Club has a knack of producing fantastic golfers. Their junior programs are first-class and the members and staff that help to drive these initiatives deserve huge credit.

The events that unfolded on Hazeltine’s 18th green were the culmination of years of hard work, dedication and countless hours spent toiling on the range at Mount Lawley.

Today was a celebration of that hard work, not just for Hannah, but for every Mount Lawley member that helped her get where she is today.
