What is your golfing timetable on an average week?
I will go down to the club most days after school from about 4pm until it gets dark. I’ll usually play a competition round once a week, whether that’s the weekend club comp or another state event depending on what is on.
You’ve had a prolific rise in the past 12 months. What do you attribute it to?
Definitely my consistency over longer periods of time has helped me out in the multiple-round events, as well as just generally developing a better, more efficient game and becoming stronger.
What is the best aspect of your game and how did you get so good at it?
My short game! My coach, Brett Rumford, has definitely helped a lot with it, not just in refining the technicality of my swing but through the wide variety of different chipping or putting comps we do. These are fun, but also make a real difference to my game.
What’s the best advice you would give to a junior golfer just starting out in the game?
Try and get out on course as much as you can and start ‘learning to score’.
What’s the best golfing advice you’ve ever received?
If you don’t believe that you can win, then you never will win.
What do you consider your best achievement in golf so far?
Coming third at the 2024 Australian Junior Am and winning my age group by 6 shots is definitely my best achievement so far. I’m also very proud to have been called up by Australia for July’s USGA Games.
Why would you recommend young golfers get into competitive golf, such as the Crunch&Sip Junior Tour, as early as they can?
It’s a great way to get the hang of how competition or tournament golf works and it creates an environment that encourages you to do the best you can early in your golfing journey. That will be a big help in the long term.
What is your ultimate golfing ambition?
To make a successful playing career out of golf that is sustainable enough for me to live comfortably off.
Which golf event would you most like to win and why?
Any of the 4 Majors. Regardless of what tour you play on, they are the events that everyone wants to win and are the hardest to win.
What’s the best course you’ve ever played, and where would you most like to play?
Best course would either be St Andrews Old or Royal Melbourne West. I would like to play at Augusta the most as it is every golfer’s dream to play there.
