Gnowangerup Golf Club is staging a fundraising golf day on September 22 after its clubhouse suffered significant damage in an earthquake last month.
A tremor measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale rocked the Great Southern community in early August, causing structural harm to the walls, ceilings, joints and even the concrete slab of the golf club’s pavilion.
The structure, which dates back to the 1960s, may require demolition and rebuilding, and the club is hoping golfers in the region will support their Closing Day Earthquake Fundraiser on Friday, September 22.
The club will stage a three-person mixed Ambrose competition, with the $30pp entry fee including lunch and dinner. Full details, including how to register, can be found here. Entries are open until September 21.
