Royal Perth redevelopment

Royal Perth claims its bid to create a “world-class golfing experience” remains on track as completion of Stage 2 of its Course Masterplan Project draws near.

Following the successful completion of Stage 1 in January of this year (modications to holes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 16), the latest stage of the redevelopment has brought ‘substantial enhancements’ across the course, according to the club.

Since commencing work in June, Stage 2 has seen a number of changes to the historic layout, including: —

  • New 7th green
  • New 8th tee & green (new par 3)
  • New 9th tee
  • New 13th green (will become the future 12th green within the final redevelopment stage)
  • New 14th tee & green (new par 3 – will become the future 13th hole within the final redevelopment stage)
  • New 15th tee (future 14th tee)
  • New 18th green
  • New 19th green (New Par 3)
  • New 1,750sqm Himalayas practice putting green & chipping green
  • 2000 Wallaby Grass Plants planted near 8th/14th/18th holes
  • Upgrades to driving range hitting area

Announcing the progress update via LinkedIn, the club stated: “These improvements represent more than upgrades – they’re about creating a world-class golfing experience for our members and guests.

“The transformation is visible from every angle. Combined with strategically placed native vegetation, environmental and water-saving initiatives, and a strong focus on improved safety across the site, we’re proud of how our vision is becoming reality.”

Royal Perth say it expects the Stage 2 elements to open to members in January 2026 prior to work on the final stage of the redevelopment commencing.
