Mount Lawley Golf Club
Formed in 1928 and located just a 10-minute drive from the Perth CBD, Mount Lawley Golf Club is one of Western Australia’s premier sporting clubs.
Back on the hosting roster in 2025 after completing major renovations, Mount Lawley will stage the WA Open for the 11th time, and the first time since 2018, when Victorian amateur Zach Murray recorded a two-stroke victory.
The championship was first held at the club in 1948, when it was won by New South Welshman Ossie Pickworth. Other notable champions from WA Opens at Mount Lawley include nine-time Major champion Gary Player (1956), Terry Gale (1982) and Stephen Leaney (1997).
This year’s winner is set to claim a top prize of $36,000 from a record prize purse of $200,000 – an increase of $25,000 on the 2024 championship, which was won by Elvis Smylie at Mandurah Country Club.
Card of the Course
The renovated championship layout measures 6,217 metres with a par of 72.
There are 10 par fours, four par threes and four par fives, which now includes the 18th after the opening and closing nines were switched upon reopening.
