Silver Spoon Play-off begins busy week for the Ladies

31st Aug 2021

Mosman Park Golf Club played host to ladies from 48 West Australian clubs on Monday for the 2021 Annual Silver Spoon play-off. The course presented the ladies with “magnificent views” and some “challenging greens”. It was a pleasure to see so many regional and metropolitan members enjoying the golf, company and hospitality at Mosman Park Golf Club.

The 2021 State Winner at Club level Silver Spoon for the best two nett aggregate scores is awarded the prestigious May Stillman Cup. Congratulations to Kathy Vigor from Point Walter GC Royal Perth GC for an excellent four rounds of stroke play.

Mardi Evans from The West Australian Golf Club is to be congratulated on winning the State Level Gross Award for the aggregate of best four gross scores for 2021 (75.77).

The International Bowl State Silver and Bronze winners were scooped up by city clubs this year, with our  congratulations again to Kathy Vigor from Point Walter and Lynley Stapleton of Maylands Peninsula GC, Silver and Bronze State winners for 2021.

The Monday play-off results saw Serpetine’s Lynda Ritchie securing the sand green prize by a healthy three strokes over Watheroo’s Colleen Mitchell.  Gosnell’s Veronica Winterbourn took out the grass greens nett title, with Lynley Stapleton from Maylands making her second appearance on the podium as runner up for the day (pictured above).

Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at Mosman Park for hosting the 2021 Silver Spoon and offering all the ladies such a warm welcome.

Results from the Stroke round can be found here.

Yesterday started a busy week in the golfing calendar, with the Jubilee Foursomes playoff commencing today, followed by Women’s Country Week filling the latter part of the week.

It is wonderful to see so many of our WA Regional Clubs in Perth enjoying the weeks competition, courses and friendship.
