Mount Lawley secure the Travel Tree title

14th Sep 2021

Ladies from all over the state enjoyed glorious golfing conditions for the State Travel Tree Play-off at Wanneroo Golf Club.  Teams qualify to enter by playing rounds at their club level with the top 25 for Metro and Country making it into the final battle.

The event is generously sponsored by Travel Tree, who offer the winning side a return trip to the 2022 Australian Open, a highly sought after prize in the ladies golfing circles.  Eight hundred and fifty seven ladies competed in this competition at club level, with ninety four battling it out at Wanneroo Golf Club for the title.

Congratulations to Jusun Kim and Jennifer Jung from Mount Lawley for taking home the number one Travel Tree prize with an outstanding 44 points.  The Mount Lawley members took to the podium and shared;

Our thanks to Wanneroo Golf Club for hosting today.  The weather has just been perfect and we had some really lovely playing partners.  Thank you to Travel Tree for sponsoring.  It is a great event and a very exciting prize.  We hope to get there in 2022!

The Kojonup girls were named runners-up in the Sand-Green division.  Congratulations to Cindy House and Sarah Taylor who clearly mastered the grass greens at Wanneroo to card 41 points!.  Narrowly behind on 40 points, the Grass Green Runner-up title was award to Judy Hutt and Lyn Gillian from Kwinana.

Golf WA would like to extend our appreciation to our event sponsor Travel Tree, and for the metro and regional clubs who encourage participation in the qualifying rounds earlier in the year.  Our thanks to Wanneroo Golf Club for hosting the day, and to all the ladies who all participated in such great spirit.
