Affiliation Fees

As per the Golf Western Australia Constitution, the Board of Golf Western Australia have set the Affiliation Fees for 2011.

Due to the amalgamation of Women' Golf Western Australia and the Western Australian Golf Association to form Golf Western Australia, there have been some differences in the way the fees have been set compared to previous years.

The summary of those changes are:

1. Women and Men will now pay the same fee.
2. Clubs are divided into the categories of "A", "B", "C" and "D" clubs for charging of Affiliation Fees. Whilst this has been the format adopted by the WAGA in the past, this has not been the format adopted by WGWA. This change now means that women in "B" and "C" clubs will pay less than women in "A" and "D" clubs.
3. The rates are the same in each category for Senior and Junior Playing Members of both genders.

Thus the Affiliation Fees for 2011 are as follows:

"A" Clubs $43.50 per male and female playing member (including $3.95 GST)

"B" Clubs $35.20 per male and female playing member (including $3.20 GST)

"C" Clubs $29.70 per male and female playing member (including $2.70 GST)

"D" Clubs $43.50 per male and female playing member (including $3.95 GST)

Notes:

1. The breakdown of the fee is as follows:

   a) "A" Clubs $29.15 (including GST)
   
   b) "B" Clubs $21.23 (including GST)
   
   c) "C" Clubs $15.95 (including GST)
   
   d) "D" Clubs $29.15 (including GST)
   
   The Golf Australia Affiliation Fee for playing members in all clubs is $11.55 (incl GST)
2. The fees do not include the Golf Link levy of $2.50 (+ GST), which in early 2011 will be payable direct to Golf Australia.
3. The Affiliation Fees are based on the number of MALE AND FEMALE PLAYING MEMBERS OF ALL CATEGORIES as at 1st January 2011. Playing Members are defined as "any golfer over the age of 12 who has playing rights be they full or restricted." This includes Life Members, country members and those members who may be members of more than one club. Please remember that it is the club that is affiliated with Golf Western Australia and affiliation fees are based on the number of male and female playing members in the club.

An example of the calculation of affiliation fees payable (for an "A" Club) follows:

Number of Senior Male Playing Members: 476

Number of Senior Female Playing Members: 85

Number of Junior Male Playing Members: 52

Number of Junior Female Playing Members: 21

Total Membership: 634

Affiliation Fees $40.70 per playing member

Total Affiliation Fees including GST: $25,803.80 (634 x $40.70)
