Introduction

The growth of the game of golf is heavily reliant upon getting junior golfers onto our courses. This section is dedicated to providing information about programs that are being run to increase awareness of golf and participation at a grass roots level.

The Game Development Committee has been formed with the vision:

 "To promote awareness of the game of golf and to increase participation and enjoyment in the wider community"

Junior Golf Programs

The MyGolf Program is a National Junior Golf  Program designed to increase participation levels and improve the skills of those already playing golf at a junior level. Golf WA is actively running the MyGolf in Schools Program, while golf clubs are strongly encouraged to adopt the MyGolf program as a structured and fun way to run their junior programs.

At the Junior Golf Forum held at Mount Lawley Golf Club, on Wednesday August 10, there was plenty discussed including the results of the Junior Golf Survey. There were also several key discussion points raised and these have now been finalised along with Golf WA's views on the topics.

The Graham Marsh Junior Golf Foundation has been a constant in the changing world of junior golf for over 30 years. The amalgamation of the WAGA and WGWA into Golf WA recently has led to the Foundation, along with many other programs, being closely looked at and the direction for the future evaluated.
