Miss Stewart was prominent in WA golf for more than twenty years, and was a member of the first Interstate Team in 1935. She continued to play State golf, and was Captain of the State Team in 1948. She played Pennants, and was a member of the Executive for a number of years, becoming Chairman of the Scratch Score Committee in 1953. She was very much aware that there was no organised competition at that time for Metropolitan Bronze players, and in 1954 moved that a Bronze Championship be introduced, for which she would donate the perpetual trophy. This was first played in 1955. After she retired from the Executive she played in and won the Veterans Cup Gross Event.
Bronze Team Shield
18 Holes Nett. Four players.
Established in 1958 to be played in conjunction with the Bronze Championship. Not less than four nor more than six players. It was intended that the Bronze shield have a bronze plaque.
