Men's Metropolitan Pennants Information

Dating back to 1925, the Men's Metropolitan Pennants competition is one of the most prestigious club competitions in Western Australia. The "A grade" competition features 20 metropolitan clubs, with the inaugural winner of the "A" division was Royal Fremantle.

From 1925 to 1983 "A" grade and "B" grade pennants were played on a yearly basis in various ways. In these years Cottesloe won nineteen "A" grade flags with Royal Perth and Royal Fremantle winning thirteen and twelve flags respectively.

In 1984 the system changed and since then Royal Fremantle has been the dominant club winning eight division one "A" grade flags, Royal Perth six, Hartfield five, Mandurah four and WA golf club two.

The 2011 Golf WA Men's Metropolitan Pennant Competition concluded Sunday 31 July as Gosnells prevailed over Royal Perth in the Finals of Division One, 5 1/2 matches to 3 1/2 at Wanneroo Golf Club.

Royal Perth was looking to rebound from their loss to Joondalup in last year's final, but they were unable to contain State Amateur Runner-up and State Team member Ray Chow, Jamie Warman and Jarryd Felton at the top of the order.
