Country Week
HISTORY
To commemorate the conclusion of the country golf season, the Drummond Golf Men's Country Week was established to provide golfers from around the State an opportunity to experience some of Perth's excellent golf courses. The ever popular event attracts players from far and wide with over 500 players converging on Perth to take part in the 4 day festival of country golf.
Country Week has been played in its current format incorporating the Country Foursome Championship and WA Country Stroke Play Championship since 1983. Traditionally, the week's programme consists of Par, 4BBB, Stableford, and Stroke play competitions providing players the opportunity to play up to four of Perth's golf courses during the week.
Country Week is drawn to a close with the traditional City v Country Match which has been held on the Friday of Country Week since 1975. The match provides the best performing players from the Country Stroke Play Championship the opportunity to take on some of Perth's finest amateurs in a battle for bragging rights.
Country Week is open to any male amateur golfers over 16 years of age of affiliated Country Clubs who reside 50 kilometers from the Perth GPO. If you are unsure as to your eligibility to enter, please call the Golf WA office.
