Smarter than Smoking
Held in perfect early summer conditions at a perfectly prepared Kwinana course, the WA juniors enjoyed their annual "teams" day before the Junior Golfer of the Year awards. Mandurah Country Club won the 4BBB Par event with 11+ in tight contest.
The evening saw awards presented to the state's two stellar performers in Min Jee Lee and Oliver Goss (both Royal Fremantle) who received the 2012 Girls and Boys Junior Golfer of the Year awards respectively. Jarryd Felton (Gosnells) and Hayley Bettencourt (Mandurah) were the Smarter than Smoking Stroke Average winners. Alice Chang (Mount Lawley) was awarded "Most Improved".
The Junior Presentation Day is a long standing tradition whereby clubs are invited to nominate a team consisting of 3 juniors and a club official to celebrate the end of the golfing season.
The format of the day is usually a combination event of a Four Ball format.
The event provides an opportunity to present awards to our best junior golfers and acknowledge the efforts of key stakeholders in junior golf in Western Australia.
