Golf WA is the State Body for Amateur Golf in Western Australia

Provide opportunities for everyone to play and learn the game of golf at all levels

Aim to grow the game of golf through equitable and inclusive practices

Work in tandem with Golf Australia to increase the popularity of golf in Western Australia

Benefits:

BENEFITS TO CLUBS AFFILIATED WITH GOLF WA

Golf WA will ensure that courses utilised by clubs have official Australian Course Ratings in order to correctly handicap club members.

Your club will be supplied free of charge with –

  • The current Rules of Golf
  • Rules of Golf in Brief

In addition clubs will be able to purchase –

  • Decisions on the Rules of Golf (current price $38.50 including GST and postage)
  • Decisions on the Rules of Amateur Status (current price $38.50 including GST and postage)
  • Guidance on running a golf competition (current price $33.00 including GST and postage)
  • Rules of Golf DVD - (current price $28.50 including GST and postage)
  • Illustrated Rules of Golf - (current price $33.00 including GST and postage)

Club details will be incorporated on the Golf WA website.

Golf WA will be able to arrange rules and discussion nights for club members.

Golf WA will be able to provide information relating to decisions on the Rules of Golf, changes to the handicapping and course rating system, guidance for the framing of local rules, guidance for conditions of entry into tournaments / competitions and many other golf administrative matters.

Rules Accreditation Courses are run periodically for club members and it is recommended that officials from all clubs together with interested members undertake one of these courses.

Copies of entry forms for State events your members may be eligible to enter will be provided to clubs.

BENEFITS TO INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

All members of affiliated clubs will be eligible to obtain and hold an Australian handicap.

All members with an official Australian handicap will be eligible to enter State events / National events (subject to entry requirements).

All members will be eligible to play in club open events providing they meet the conditions of entry.

Note: It is the prerogative of any golf club which conducts open golf competitions to determine the eligibility conditions of entry into such competitions. Golf WA cannot guarantee that entry into these competitions will automatically apply.

Members of clubs will receive a copy of the Rules of Golf and the Rules of Golf in Brief and updated issues when published.

All members of affiliated clubs are covered under the Golf Australia Player Liability Insurance Policy
