Inside The Ropes – Episode 10

Just how good was Jordan Spith’s final five-hole stretch to win the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale?

After spending almost a half-hour hacking his way down 13 – although to be fair most of that was spent on the driving range – Spieth produced the most clutch of finishes to secure his third major title on the eve of his 24th birthday.

Special guest and media identity Geoff Shackelford (11:00) dissects Spieth’s heroics in north-west England – and an insight into the change of pre-round routine that helped him – while the team also chat to former Australia cricketer Brett Geeves about his desire to represent his native Tasmania in golf.

On the Western Australia show (audio below) GolfWA high performance co-ordinator Matt Nelson previews the weekend’s men’s pennants finals and the news that Kiran Day will join Min Woo Lee at next month’s US Amateur Championship after qualifying in California during the week.

The duo are now with the Golf Australia set-up in Houston as they prepare top try and follow in the footsteps of Curtis Luck woh memorably won the tournament last year.
