Cottesloe Golf Club continue to dominate Division One Men’s Pennant after the third round, confidently defeating Royal Perth Golf Club 7-0 at Mandurah Country Club on Sunday.

Cottesloe GC has won a remarkable 17/21 of their match play rounds confirming they are a potential title contender for 2019.

Cottesloe GC Pennants Captain James Ferguson noted:

“We have been around the mark for the last couple of years, but this year with the addition of the young guys that have joined Division 1 it has really added extra depth to the team. We are fortunate to have 9-10 guys in the pennants squad that are all very strong. My aim for the team is to have four wins under our belt going into the Easter weekend bye. We still need to take it one week at a time and facing Royal Fremantle next week we need to remain strong.”

Lake Karrinyup Country Club sits in second position after a win over Royal Fremantle 4-3.  Joe Owen (LKCC) had a confident win over State Team member Hayden Hopewell (RFGC) 5&4.

Joondalup Country Club proved too strong for the boys from Gosnells Golf Club defeating them 5-2.  Joondalup’s Connor McKinney, Josh Greer, Carter Mealing, Ian Pienaar and Ben Croft had some convincing wins in glorious conditions at Mandurah Country Club.

Mount Lawley Golf Club had their first win of the season against Mandurah Country Club on their home turf 5-2.

Next week Division One Men’s Pennants will be hosted by Royal Perth.

The Vines Golf Club managed to secure second spot on the table after a hard fought battle against Bunbury winning 6-1, with four of the matches proceeding to 19th, 21st and 22nd holes.
