Royal Fremantle Girls’ Division One Pennant team powered through the heat to remain undefeated at Mt Lawley Golf club this weekend. RFGC defeated Royal Perth 4-2 securing their position at the top of the leaderboard.
Abbie Teasdale (RFGC) and Yeah-Jin Lee (RPGC) played outstanding rounds, matching each other birdie for birdie on the tough 14th Par 5. SeHee Park (RFGC) continued her winning streak with three consecutive match play wins.
Gosnells and Mt Lawley Gold (2) halved and remain hot on the heels of RFGC Girls’ Division One team. Next week will bring an exciting test for the leaders pitted against Gosnells on their home course. With one point between the top three teams, there are some exciting weeks ahead in Girls’ Division One Pennants.
The Gosnells/Melville Girls’ Division Two Pennant team continued undefeated with a 4-1 win over South-West, steaming ahead to a clear two point lead. Sun City hold onto second place after a solid win over KGC/ RPGC combined team 4.5-0.5.
Joondalup maintain their stronghold on the lead by two points in the Boys’ Division 1 Pennants with a healthy win over Mt Lawley 5-2 in sweltering conditions at The Vines. Gareth Steyn (JCC) and Ian Pienaar (JCC) secured their third strong consecutive individual win this pennant season.
Royal Fremantle proved they are challengers for the title defeating Gosnells 6-1 and jumping into second place. Melville had a convincing 7-0 win over Mandurah. Next week will present and exciting match hosted at Sun City between RFGC and Mt Lawley. These teams remain equal standing on two wins and one loss to date, with Hayden Hopewell (RFGC) and Terry Hatzis (Mt Lawley GC) undefeated in match play this pennants season.
In Division Two Boy’s Pennants, South West Goldfields sit one point clear of WA Golf Club after a convincing victory over Lakelands 5-1. WA Golf Club were tested in the heat with Royal Perth bringing home a 4.5-0.5 win.
