Bakers Hill product Chris Harris is the stand alone leader after round one of the Aglime Sand Greens Championship of Western Australia at Jurien Bay Country Golf Club.

Players were treated to fantastic conditions at the course north of Perth, with Harris showing plenty of consistency throughout to record four birdies in his one-under-par score.

Youngster Josh Fewkes impressed in his maiden appearance at the much-loved event, sitting one-shot further back after a round of 72.

Veterans Michael Stirk and Nathaniel Jones are part of the chasing pack, with last year’s champion Ryan Sheridan sitting nicely in third position.

Daniel Negus, Tim Gilotti and Evan Sewell are all within striking distance, with experience at the tournament key on the final day.

Harris and Jones were equally impressive in their nett scores – both shooting 65 on the day.

Brian Mcalpine showed his class to record a nett score of 67 with a nine handicap.

Players will tee off from 7.00am at Jurien Bay Country Golf Club.
