Expressions of Interest for the State Team Coaching and Manager’s roles, in preparation for the 2018 Interstate Series, are now open. Both Expressions of Interest close strictly at 5pm, Friday September 1, 2017.
State Team Coaching Role
GolfWA is looking for highly-motivated, passionate and advanced PGA members to appropriately prepare one or more of the State Teams for their respective Interstate Series, to be held in April and May 2018.
The main responsibility for State Team Coaches is to establish and implement a holistic training programme, focused solely on preparing the team for their respective Interstate Series.
This will be conducted over a 30-hour period, between October and April (Junior Interstate) or May (Interstate). The training programme should also reflect the ‘Prepare : Perform’ statement, and associated values that the GolfWA High Performance Department stand for.
GolfWA are looking for advanced PGA members with access to suitable practice facilities. Desirable attributes include excellent communication skills in order to liaise between primary coaches and service providers and proven experience in bringing together a diverse group of people, to work towards a common goal.
State Team Coaches are appropriately remunerated, with a significant increase from previous years.
State Team Manager Role
GolfWA is seeking highly-organised, motivated and affiliated members to manage one or more of the State Teams for the respective Interstate Series, to be held in April and May 2018.
The main responsibility for State Team Managers is to deliver the on-ground schedules, logistics and requirements of the team, ensuring the well-being needs of each athlete and coach are met. State Team Managers should also assist in ensuring the adherence to the ‘Prepare : Perform’ vision statement, and associated values that the GolfWA High Performance Department stand for.
Whilst the State Team Manager role is voluntary, GolfWA will cover all expenses during pre-selection camps, Interstate Series and any National Championships prior to the Interstate Series (relevant for Junior Interstate Series ONLY).
As a minimum requirement, interested applicants must be a member of an affiliated golf club, hold a C class drivers licence and willing to hold a valid Working with Children’s Check. Desirable attributes include excellent communication skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders, and proven experience in bringing together a diverse group of people, to work towards a common goal.
